My work is about creating an art form for the sense of touch. Many of my sculptures are designed to be known through touch as well as sight. I seek to promote and research aesthetic touch through lectures,workshops and conferences and collaborations with scientists, educators and people with visual impairments. I have written a book, Whole Body Seeing: Touch in the Visual Arts.
Graduated with a degree in art history from Smith College, worked at Yale University Art Gallery, Prescott College, Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, studied art at Silvermine College of Art.
Exhibitions in the US and Europe and fellowships from New England Foundation for the Arts,Massachusetts Cultural Council and Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico.
