Affordable Pet Portraits and Original Equine Art

I have loved horses for as long as I can remember and grew up doodling them in the margins of my papers. The range of expressions they are capable of always caught my eye, how each animal could have that little something that made him unique from any other in the group regardless of how similar they may appear at first glance. This is what I try to capture in my art, that little something extra, and sometimes that means trying something new. When I started working I used only graphite but found as I looked deeper into the horses’ personalities that some needed something more to capture their spark, this prompted my experimentation into color as well as pen and ink. My portfolio depicts a variety of breeds and types because every horse, in his uniqueness, is lovely.

Growing up with horses I always loved their beauty. I drew portraits of the horses I was riding for as long as I can remember. While attending Umass Amherst for an Equine Business degree I offered my first portrait commissions to help pay for riding lessons. Later this expanded into dog and cat portraits as well.
