Photographer

Spending time with flowers and nature gives me joy and a sense of peace. Capturing their beauty in a photograph allows me to hold on to that joy and to share it with others. I delight in and am inspired by the detail, design and colors contained within nature and focus particularly on the element of light and shadow. The opportunity to show my work is a gift. I started taking photography seriously in 1999. I currently use an Olympus OM-D 5 digital camera. Most of my earlier work was done with a macro lens with flowers as the subject matter. My more recent work portrays landscapes. My photographs have minimal digital manipulation. The size of my photographs framed range from 14″x18″ to 22″x30″. I also have an extensive line of photographic greeting cards available in my studio and at a few local shops.

My first solo exhibit was in the Hosmer Gallery at Forbes Library (“Up Close and Personal: An Hour with a Flower” 2002). Since then I have had numerous exhibits throughout Hampshire County. I am a member of the Pioneer Valley Photographic Artists and have participated in several of their group shows at Bay State Medical Center and the Valley Photo Center in Springfield. In November 2007 I opened a studio at One Cottage Street and would welcome visitors by appointment. I live in Prince Edward County in Canada for 5 months each year and have many photographs depicting this beautiful island in Lake Ontario.
