Oil paintings based on observation, mainly from New England locations, Chu’s work anchors on the transformation and discovery in the direct-painting process, which involves translating the artist’s vision onto canvases. His preferred subjects are ordinary places and things in his environment, for he finds beauty and complexity in the act of seeing and painting.
Moonlit Sea Prints will be featuring 20 new arrival Japanese woodblock prints including pieces by Kawase Hasui, Ito Shinsui, Hiroshi Yoshida and more. View these prints along with over 500 original Japanese woodblocks from 1790-1960.

Paintings created from photos captured by the photojournalists covering the war In Ukraine and from imagination fed by those images. The paintings straddle both abstraction and representation to convey the destruction and desperation.
