Ultimate Safari in Southern Africa: Photography by Vera Yanez will be on display March 5th – March 27th with an Art Walk Reception on March 9th in the ECA Gallery from 5-8pm. The exhibition consists of wildlife photography by Vera Yanez taken during a recent safari in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, and South Africa. Yanez traveled to see animals in their natural habitat, and would like to share the following artist statement with you:

“I am in awe of the incredible diversity of life on this planet. There are millions of species of animals, marine life, plants, flowers, insects and invertebrates. Unfortunately, we are ruining the earth with our disregard for the planet and its I creatures. In the future, many species I hope to see won’t exist.

Animals of all types are my favorite subjects to observe and photograph. When an animal looks at me I try to understand what it is telling me and to convey that message in my photographs. I plan to keep traveling, see as much of the world as possible, and present its unique sights to the world through photos.”
