Martha Braun’s work is most easily identified as painting though it contains elements of the
sculptural and photographic as well. The work sits in the realm of non-representation
and presents a point of focus for the silence of contemplation, subtlety of color, and the
elegance of form.
Martha Braun is a visual artist who received her Master of Fine Arts Degree from the
Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston with residencies in Provincetown. She maintains her studio in Eaasthampton where, beyond her artistic practice, she is engaged in a study of color theory and color mixing for artists and in
doing research into the lives of oft-times forgotten (despite their excellence) artists who are women.
