Linda Booth Sweeney: “The Noisy Puddle”—A Vernal Pool Exploration

May 8 @ 4:00 pm - 5:15 pm

Free
Calling all young naturalists, wildlife enthusiasts, and future water stewards! Linda Booth Sweeney will read from her picture book The Noisy Puddle: A Vernal Pool Through the Seasons on May 8 at the Mass Audubon Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary. Space is limited and registration is required.
In this vibrant and poetic informational picture book, two curious siblings observe the hidden world of a vernal pool: a special kind of puddle habitat that pops up in the spring, dries up by summer, reappears in the fall, and freezes over in the winter—only to come back again in the spring.
After storytime, families will visit Arcadia’s vernal pool and learn more about the creatures that call this sanctuary home.
Linda Booth Sweeney is a writer, educator, game maker, and trampoline jumper who writes fiction and nonfiction for children and adults. She uses science, art, stories, and humor to encourage people of all ages to be curious about the connections that shape our world. Her picture books include The Noisy Puddle: A Vernal Pool Through the Seasons, Apart, Together: A Book about Transformation, Monument Maker: Daniel Chester French and the Lincoln Memorial, When the Snow Falls, and When the Wind Blows. She lives outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
