Ancestry of the Dark Moons
13 moons, 13 artists, 13 artistic explorations
The dark moon is not the waxing, waning, full, or new moons, but when no moon is visible. It is not the beginning, the middle, or end. It encompasses all the complexities of the phases and considers the nuances of holding the ancestors of our collective past, who we are beneath the surface at our present, as well as looking forward to our generations yet to be. Each artist has explored what the tone of each dark moon has to offer and created art in response to the self discovery that particular moon has engendered within them. The dark moon embraces and heals us, yet is unraveling to allow discovery of our unknown parts. There are no secrets, yet there is shrouding in mystery, raw and primal; ancestral. What will you discover?
