Jill Lewis

I am drawn to light, line, shadow, shapes and texture, Early morning ethereal mist, evening fog and worn patinas. The mystery within the shadows, or behind the highlights. The minimal, with its complexities and intricacies. Intrigued by the detritus left behind in our ever changing “landscape”, and it’s silent history, my photographs allow the viewer to create their stories, guided by their own history.

I acquired by BFA in 2004 from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, with scholastic distinction.

I have been awarded two Massachusetts Cultural Grants. Though I use photography as my medium, I also am know to work with other materials. In accordance with that, I have also been chosen twice (2009 & 2012) as an Artist for the Easthampton Bear Fest Celebrations, creating themes for fiberglass bears. I have also had numerous exhibits, group as well as solo.
