I love people. I love stories. Let me tell yours.
As an award winning photojournalist who delights in making authentic, storytelling images, I’m excited to be opening a new studio in Easthampton, MA. From documenting traditions (weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, etc) to communicating the mission, spirit and values of schools, colleges, and non profits, I am happiest when engaged with wonderful people, wonderful institutions and making wonderful, life affirming images.
I worked as a photographer for Wesleyan University when I first left college, went on to work for 22 years at the Hartford Courant, and have had my own photography business for the last 9 years, with a studio in Hartford CT and a newly opened studio in Easthampton, MA. In addition to educational and non profits, I look forward to taking a photojournalistic way of seeing and exploring family portraiture that celebrates connection and joy.
Times Mirror Journalist of the Year, 1999 Pulitzer nominee for “Leaving State,” a 42 page special section exploring, over two years, the challenges faced by a young mom leaving welfare. Annie Casey First Place Award for Meritorious Photojournalism (2000) for “Leaving State.” Leaving a full-time job in 2008 for solo entrepreneurship and a wonderful life as a freelance photographer.
